Bootstrap Software, a software consulting firm in Manhattan, is looking for a Sr. Pentaho Developer to work on ETL and BI implementations. This is a short-term assignment that could lead to a permanent position for the right candidate. A successful candidate must enjoy and excel at working on mission critical business applications in a fast paced technical environment. Project could be completed remotely under the right circumstances.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Analyze project requirements and document technical specifications

2. Ensure proper system integration between business rules, applications, and database warehouse implementation

3. Working closely with Lead DWH Architect to achieve objectives

4. Assist in developing reporting and data analysis systems

5. Design and develop ETL scripts and workflows

6. Build Analysis (Mondrian) OLAP cubesandaggregate tables

7. Write DML to build database objects and follow established naming standards

8. Writing efficient, correct code and even better documentation

9. Update and maintain data models, metadata and database dictionaries

10. Ensure database performance and resolve problems

11. Resolve programmatic flaws and provide database support through a ticketing system

12. Provide metrics and project planning updates to project managers

13. Foster cross team communication

Qualifications &Skills:

1. 6+ years of progressive software development lifecycle experience

2. 4+ years experience with Oracle 10g in UNIX environment

3. 2+ years experience with Pentaho Enterprise BI, specifically Data Integration (Kettle), Analysis (Mondrian), and Reporting

4. Strong desire to use and get involved with open source communities

5. Ridiculously diligent approach to documentation

6. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills; creative solutions development

7. Familiarity with ETL, Business Intelligence, and Reporting Platforms

8. Understand data warehouse design fundamentals

9. Strong SQL skills are required

10. Strong analytical skills

11. Strong verbal and written communication skills

12. Expertise in UNIX fundamentals

13. Experience working in a project driven environment is a plus

14. Experience working against strict time lines is a plus

15. Experience using SVN a plus

16. If working remotely, a reliable and fast internet connection is required
